We take pride in every step of the production process from seed to doorstep. This includes extraction!
Supercritical CO2 and subcritical CO2 are two methods of CBD extraction. Supercritical extraction uses both temperature and pressure to alter the state of CO2. This method allows larger molecules to be extracted, resulting in a more waxy end product. Additionally, this method is known to limit the terpene profile when compared to that of the source plant.
Subcritical CO2 extraction uses lower temperatures and results in a lighter, more palatable end product. This method also provides a more accurate terpene profile when compared to the source plant material. Overall, this extraction method results in a superior user experience as well as a more accurate representation of the phytochemical profile of the source plant material.
We made the decision to switch from Supercritical extraction to Subcritical extraction to provide our members with products that more accurately mimic the natural phytochemical profile of our uniquely powerful strain of hemp.
